Tinubu mourns with Olubadan, Makinde over Oloye Alabi’s death

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences following the passing of Oloye Lekan Alabi, a distinguished Nigerian journalist and public relations figure. Alabi died on Saturday in Lagos at the age of 76. He was a prominent traditional chief, holding the esteemed title of Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland. President Tinubu acknowledged Alabi's extensive career, noting his service as Press Secretary to four former governors of Oyo State. "Oloye Alabi was a consummate journalist and public relations expert who had a distinguished public service career," Tinubu stated. Beyond his professional achievements, Alabi was recognized as a cultural icon, deeply passionate about tradition. He also served as the Cultural Ambassador of the Source in Ile-Ife, Osun State. The President extended his sympathies to Alabi's family, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, and the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde. Prayers were offered for the repose of his soul and for strength to his family as he is laid to rest on Sunday in Ibadan according to Islamic rites.
