Tinubu never ordered tuition fee hike, NELFUND board member tells Atiku

Umar Farouk Lawal, a member of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund’s Board of Trustees, has challenged African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to prove his claim that President Bola Tinubu ordered a tuition fee increase in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

Lawal rejected the allegation and called on Atiku to provide evidence for it. The dispute centers on whether the president directed universities and other tertiary institutions to raise fees.
