Tinubu Orders Arrest, Suspension Of Three Perm Secs As ICPC Uncovers Another Fake Govt Agency

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest and suspension of three federal Permanent Secretaries implicated in the operation of a fictitious government agency. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) uncovered the entity, which was operating as the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office.

ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, revealed that the affected Permanent Secretaries are M S Danjuma, Engr Nadungu Gagare, and Richard Pheelangwah. The commission's discovery follows its recent exposure of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), another fake agency.

According to Aliyu, the newly uncovered agency had allegedly secured office accommodation within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) without presidential authorization. The ICPC is currently engaging with relevant officials in the OSGF to understand how the agency operated from government premises and to gather further information.

The fake agency was reportedly promoted by Prince George Buchi Nwabueze, who allegedly used various aliases. President Tinubu has directed the ICPC to arrest Nwabueze and investigate the roles played by the suspended officials and others in the agency's establishment and operation. Aliyu commended the President's directive for a wider policy audit of federal agencies and government processes, calling it a proactive measure to strengthen the governance system.
