Tinubu, Shettima Urge Prayers Against Insecurity, Adherence to Prophet Muhammad's Teachings on Eid-el-Maulud

On the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima have called upon Muslims to internalize the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad. In separate messages, the leaders encouraged the faithful to use the celebration for introspection and to draw lessons from the Prophet's life, emphasizing devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility, and selflessness.

The Muslim faithful should make deliberate effort to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. There are great lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness that we can all learn from the life of the Prophet.

President Tinubu specifically urged prayers against the prevailing insecurity and other afflictions affecting various regions of Nigeria. He implored religious leaders to guide their followers in translating the Prophet's teachings into tangible actions that contribute to the nation's well-being. Tinubu also encouraged acts of fellowship towards the needy and vulnerable, aligning with the spirit of the season.

Vice-President Shettima, in his message, prayed for lasting peace and prosperity for Nigeria, seeking divine guidance on the path of righteousness. He highlighted the Prophet's life as an enduring example of mercy, humility, justice, patience, and service to humanity. Shettima stressed that these values should inspire Nigerians to reinforce their bonds, care for the vulnerable, and reject hatred and division, particularly amidst the nation's ongoing economic growth under the "Renewed Hope Agenda."
