TKP General Secretary Okuyan: 'Israel's game is not being thwarted; we are being dragged into a new game set up by the U.S. and UK'

Kemal Okuyan, General Secretary of the Turkish Communist Party (TKP), asserts that Israel stands to gain the most from any change in power in Syria, undermining claims that "Israel's plans are being thwarted."

Okuyan stated on social media that Turkey's presence among the supposed victors in Syria does not negate the significant gains made by Israel. He views the emergence of a "new solution process" alongside a potential power shift in Syria as no coincidence. "The claim that 'we have thwarted Israel's plans' has been repeatedly voiced, first by Bahçeli, then Öcalan, and finally by the AKP," Okuyan noted.

Therefore, the discourse 'we are thwarting Israel's plans' ceases to be convincing from the outset.

He believes Israel is exploiting the Kurdish reality in the region as a bargaining chip. Okuyan questions whether this chip is being used as blackmail to push Turkey in a specific direction at the behest of the U.S. and UK. He observes that Öcalan is volunteering to handle Iran, and more significantly, that the fundamental goal of the process is to reformat the Republic into a Neo-Ottoman structure. "The AKP government does not know exactly what it is doing," Okuyan stated. "The cards are being reshuffled, competition in the region is deepening, and there is no clear leadership to manage the turbulence that plans or fantasies might cause."

Amidst these developments, Okuyan criticizes those who claim Turkey will democratize or that progress will be made on national self-determination. "What happened to the 'Palace regime'? Pardon me, 'the struggle of the peoples' pushed it back and cornered it, right?" he asked sarcastically.
