Tlaxcala Presents Feria de Ferias 2026, Aims for Guinness Record with Pulque Tasting

Tlaxcala is gearing up to host the Feria de Ferias 2026, a sprawling event scheduled from October 22 to November 16. Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros unveiled the plans for an edition that promises a blend of tradition, culture, gastronomy, and family-friendly entertainment. The fair will also inaugurate a renovated fairground and aims to achieve a new Guinness World Record with the world's largest pulque tasting.

During the presentation at the Ex-Convento Franciscano, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Rosa Elena Nava García Méndez, executive president of the Patronato para las Exposiciones y Ferias de la Ciudad de Tlaxcala, described the 2026 edition as "a modern, family-friendly, inclusive celebration proud of its origin." The state anticipates welcoming thousands of visitors with a diverse program designed for all ages and tastes.

The Feria de Ferias 2026 will feature free concerts by renowned artists such as Bronco, Amanda Miguel, and Gloria Trevi at the Teatro del Pueblo. Alongside these performances, attendees can enjoy traditional events like charreadas (rodeo) and bullfights, as well as agricultural, livestock, industrial, and artisanal exhibitions. Classic events like the Certamen de la Flor Tlaxcalteca, the Catrinas walk, and the National Danzón Contest are also making a comeback.

Gastronomy will play a central role, with a Festival de Paellas, a Festival del Maíz, a gastronomic showcase by Canirac, and the Festival del Pulque. New attractions include the "Fantasía sobre Hielo" ice skating show with international performers and the first "Esencia Tlaxcalteca" Representative Costume contest, aimed at promoting cultural roots and creativity. A special tribute to the traditional huehues will also take place, exploring their history, attire, and dances across different regions of Tlaxcala.

Adding to the excitement, Tlaxcala's Secretary of Tourism, Fabricio Mena Rodríguez, announced that on November 15, the state will attempt to secure its fifth Guinness World Record with the largest pulque tasting. This follows previous records related to its culinary heritage, including the largest variety of tacos, the largest word made from pan de fiesta, and the longest line of quesadillas.
