Toddler found bound and gagged in Bantul rental home

Authorities in Bantul, Yogyakarta, are investigating a disturbing case of alleged child abandonment after a three-year-old girl was found bound and gagged inside a rented home. The child, identified by the initials ACB, was discovered in a distressed state on Monday evening, June 1st, around 9:00 PM WIB.

The discovery was made by a neighbor who, along with the building's landlord, investigated cries heard from the rented room. Upon forcing open the window, they found ACB bound with clear tape around her mouth, hands, and feet, and also tied with a maroon scarf. The child was reportedly weak and distressed.

The position of the mouth was taped with clear plastic, both hands were tied using clear tape, and both feet were tied using clear tape and a maroon scarf.

Police were immediately alerted and responded to the scene. Initial investigations revealed ACB is the daughter of RF, a driver who works in Jakarta, and TKS. The child's mother, TKS, was not present at the time of discovery but has since been taken into custody by the police for questioning. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and TKS's role in leaving her daughter in such a condition.

While the investigation is ongoing, the child ACB has been confirmed to be in good health and is currently under the care of the Ridho family in Gunungkidul. The case has prompted a thorough police inquiry into the alleged abandonment.
