Tokayev calls Xi Jinping a great leader of historic scale

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has lauded Chinese President Xi Jinping, describing him as a "great leader of historic scale" whose strategic vision is guiding modern China. Tokayev made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai.

Tokayev recalled China's journey, noting that in 80 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the nation endured significant political and economic upheavals for half that period. However, in the last 40 years, China has achieved "incredible success in its development," eradicating poverty and emerging as a global superpower with a highly diversified economy, including advanced technologies.

He also acknowledged China's significant advancements in artificial intelligence, as reflected in the conference's theme, "Global Solidarity in the AI Era."
