Tom Cruise to join FIFA World Cup 2026 closing ceremony

Tom Cruise is set to make a special appearance at the FIFA World Cup 2026 closing ceremony on Sunday, July 19. The event will take place at the New York New Jersey Stadium ahead of the final match, celebrating the journeys of the 48 participating teams across the three host countries and 16 cities.

Echoing the spirit of the opening ceremonies, which welcomed the world to the greatest stage in Canada, Mexico and the United States, the closing ceremony will bring the FIFA World Cup 2026 full circle through music, culture and football, before we kick off the highly anticipated match that will crown the champions of this groundbreaking tournament.

The star-studded pregame show will include performances by Italian singer-songwriter Laura Pausini, Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger, and English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. YouTube star IShowSpeed will also perform, while EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson is scheduled to deliver a rendition of the United States national anthem.

Earlier in July, FIFA revealed that Canadian pop star Justin Bieber will co-headline the halftime show with Madonna, Shakira, and BTS. Nigerian singer Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS 22 Chorus will also be part of the 11-minute broadcast. FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted the halftime show's support for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, aiming to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children worldwide. "Every child should have the opportunity to dream, and together we can help make that possible," Infantino stated.
