Tomilinas on Transposing European Directive: 'It Will Not Be Easy, the Tripartite Council Will Also Have to Work'

The government is submitting proposed amendments to legislation aimed at aligning with the EU's Platform Work Directive.

Tomas Tomilinas, chairman of the Seimas Committee on Social Affairs and Labor, acknowledged that this legislative transposition will not be straightforward. He indicated that significant work lies ahead for various bodies involved in the process. The directive seeks to clarify the employment status of platform workers and ensure fairer working conditions across the EU.

Furthermore, Tomilinas highlighted the crucial role the Tripartite Council, an consultative body comprising government, employer, and employee representatives, will play.
