The French National Rugby League (LNR) has firmly shut the door on Stade Toulousain's attempts to renegotiate the salary cap, delivering a decisive rejection to the club's demands. In a statement released Wednesday, the LNR declared that the provisions in question are "not tainted by illegality" and are, in fact, "indispensable elements for the effectiveness of the system, serving sporting equity, attractiveness, and economic sustainability of the Top 14." This ruling comes after Stade Toulousain, led by president Didier Lacroix, had called for the abrogation of several salary cap rules, specifically targeting the mandatory inclusion of income paid to players by club-associated partners, which they likened to disguised salaries.
