His performance at first base is crucial for the Dragons, as Ye Jun-chang emphasizes that in baseball, pitching and defense take precedence over hitting and baserunning.

While Chu Yu-hsien is a natural first baseman, his versatility was previously utilized by the Lamigo Monkeys. However, with the emergence of Liu Chun-wei as a capable outfielder, the Dragons can afford to keep Chu at first base. Ye Jun-chang expressed his admiration for rival Fubon Guardians first baseman Fan Kuo-chen, acknowledging his skill. Yet, he firmly believes Chu Yu-hsien is the superior choice for his team.
