TOP LYGA Kicks Off New Stage Without "Riteriai" Club

The Lithuanian football league, TOP LYGA, has begun a new phase without the "Riteriai" club after it was disqualified and its results annulled. The league will continue with the remaining teams.

Scheduled matches include Marijampolė "Sūduva" facing FA "Šiauliai" on June 16. "Sūduva" remains undefeated at home this season, boasting a strong defense. However, they face a challenging opponent in "Šiauliai," against whom they have not won in their last eight encounters. "Sūduva" will be without Markas Beneta, but the duo of Žygimantas Baltrūnas and Aleksandras Živanovičius has been performing well. Domantas Antanavičius has been registered for the match.

FA "Šiauliai" has struggled to secure away wins, drawing six out of nine matches. They have only managed one victory in Marijampolė since 2022. The team recently had a four-match unbeaten streak snapped. While some players have returned after a break, Gabrielius Micevičius remains sidelined.

Another fixture pits Vilnius "Žalgiris" against "Panevėžys." "Žalgiris" anticipates the return of three new players: Stanislavas Bilenkis, Danny Koy Lupano, and Dominikas Franke. Matas Vareika and Klaudijus Upstas were injured or unavailable in the previous match. Both teams have a history of scoring in their recent encounters.

"Panevėžys" has struggled with consistency, experiencing more losses than draws. Key players will return from suspension, but Salomonas Kouadio will miss the match due to the same reason. The team has conceded 20 goals in away matches and has not played with its optimal defensive lineup. Newcomer Nauris Petkevičius is not expected to feature.

Kauno rajono "Hegelmann" will host Telšių "Džiugas." "Hegelmann" has not defeated "Džiugas" away from home. The team is experiencing a more positive period after the international break, having taken points from "Kauno Žalgiris" and seeking revenge against "Džiugas."
