The government is actively pursuing the modernization of the nation's Armed Forces through significant investments in advanced hardware and comprehensive training programs designed to elevate personnel's operational planning and combat readiness.

Speaking at the Grand Finale of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2026 and the African Land Forces Forum (ALFF) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, representing President Tinubu, vowed to eradicate insecurity in Nigeria. This will be achieved through intelligence-driven operations enhanced by technology. He believes this, coupled with partnerships like the ALFF, will build national confidence stemming from a nation's ability to arm itself.
