Tourist Isolated in Spain With Hantavirus

A French-Argentine tourist has been diagnosed with Hantavirus and is currently in isolation in Spain, according to France's Ministry of Health. The individual, who had been traveling in France, presented with mild symptoms and is now considered asymptomatic. Health officials are actively working to trace the tourist's recent travel history to identify any potential contacts or exposure points.

This case comes after a previous Hantavirus outbreak earlier in the year aboard the Dutch cruise ship MV Hondius. Three passengers died from the virus during that incident. However, the World Health Organization officially declared that outbreak over at the beginning of July. Despite the earlier cruise ship incident, the current case in Spain is being managed with precautionary measures.

In a separate development, three additional deaths related to Hantavirus were reported in Venezuela at the end of July. The Ministry of Health in France emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to track the patient's movements and prevent further spread.
