Toyota launches 60th anniversary Corolla Sport special edition in Taiwan

Toyota is preparing to introduce a special commemorative edition of its Corolla Sport in Taiwan, celebrating the iconic Corolla model's 60th anniversary. This upcoming 'The 60th' edition has been spotted in Taiwan's environmental noise database, signaling its imminent launch.

To mark this significant milestone, the Corolla Sport 'The 60th' edition will receive distinct styling cues. These include exclusive 'The 60th' decals on the body and a special limited-edition badge, emphasizing its commemorative status. The vehicle will also be fitted with sporty 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels to enhance its dynamic appearance. Buyers will have a choice of four colors: Deep Black, Brilliant Blue, Aurora Silver, and Platinum White.

Inside, the special edition boasts a modern and tech-focused cabin. It features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a Head-Up Display (HUD), and a 9-inch central touchscreen. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration. A key highlight of the interior is the use of high-bolstering "Brin Naub" sports seats, designed to provide a more engaging and sporty driving environment.

Under the hood, the Corolla Sport 'The 60th' edition will retain the familiar 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine. This powertrain delivers 171 horsepower and 20.6 kg-m of torque, paired with a CVT transmission for smooth driving performance. The vehicle also achieves a respectable average fuel economy of 16.2 km/L. As standard, it will come equipped with Toyota's Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0) advanced driver-assistance system, ensuring a high level of safety.
