Toyota's entry-level crossover SUV gets a sporty makeover in India with Aero Black Edition

Toyota is enhancing the appeal of its entry-level crossover SUV, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, in India with the introduction of the Aero Black Edition. This new styling package aims to give the vehicle a more dynamic and aggressive appearance through extensive blacked-out accents.

The Aero Black Edition package, available as an optional upgrade for approximately $1,000 NT dollars, transforms the Hyryder's exterior. Key visual enhancements include a gloss black grille, black body trim, and a dark finish for the tailgate. The SUV also receives a sporty body kit with front and rear bumper spoilers and side skirts. Complementing these changes are 17-inch alloy wheels with a distinctive cyclone design, all finished in a deep "Midnight Black" paint.

Inside, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder retains its existing features. Standard equipment includes a 9-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims offer premium amenities such as ventilated leather seats, a panoramic glass sunroof, wireless charging, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.

The Hyryder is offered with two powertrain options in India. Customers can choose between a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, producing 103 horsepower and paired with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, available in 2WD or 4WD configurations. Alternatively, a 1.5-liter hybrid powertrain delivers a combined output of 115.5 horsepower through an eCVT transmission in a 2WD setup, boasting an impressive fuel economy of 27.97 km/L.
