Toyota updates Corolla Cross with new tech, sportier GR-S version

Toyota is refreshing its popular Corolla Cross SUV, introducing a range of updates aimed at enhancing technology, connectivity, and aesthetics, particularly for the GR-S sport variant. The automaker seeks to create a more practical and comfortable interior environment while modernizing the vehicle's design.

Across all gasoline versions, a new console integrates the gear selector, electronic parking brake with hold function, wireless charger, USB ports, and improved storage spaces. This update is designed to offer a more convenient experience for both the driver and passengers.

The GR-S model stands out with exclusive exterior enhancements. It features a new honeycomb grille that seamlessly integrates with the headlights, exclusive fog light surrounds, and gloss black exterior accents. The rear also receives exclusive moldings and a redesigned diffuser to amplify its sporty appeal, complemented by 18-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of technology, the XEI version gains access to Toyota's Connected Services platform. This includes a complimentary "Always Connected" package and a "Connected Security" package, which offers features like enhanced monitoring for sudden decelerations or airbag deployment, 24-hour assistance, speed alerts, geofencing, stolen vehicle tracking, and immobilization. While the initial 12 months of the security package are free, it will incur a fee thereafter.
