Trabzonspor Officially Announces Fatih Tekke’s Departure

Trabzonspor has officially ended its relationship with Fatih Tekke, closing a period that had remained uncertain after his decision to resign following a UEFA Europa League playoff match against Hungary’s Ferencvaros.

The club initially said Tekke’s resignation had not been accepted and that the team would continue with him. That position changed after Trabzonspor’s most recent Turkish Super Lig match, an away defeat against Amedspor. The club then decided to part ways with the coach.

Trabzonspor notified Turkey’s Public Disclosure Platform that Tekke’s contract had been terminated by mutual agreement. The club’s statement said: “Our company and Fatih Tekke, the head coach of our professional football team, have mutually terminated the contract.”

Tekke remained in charge for 539 days. He signed a four-and-a-half-year contract on March 11, 2025, and led Trabzonspor in 48 league matches. The Black Sea club recorded 26 wins, 14 draws and eight defeats under his management, averaging 1.91 points per game.
