Trabzonspor President Urges Support for Prudent Transfer Strategy

Trabzonspor's president, Ertuğrul Doğan, is navigating a challenging period, emphasizing a strategic shift in the club's transfer policy. Despite the team's successful performance, securing third place in the league and winning the Turkish Cup, Doğan faces criticism and a perceived lack of support for his approach.

Doğan is steering clear of high-profile, expensive signings that might appease fans in the short term. Instead, he is focused on acquiring young, promising talent that aligns with the club's financial realities and future potential. He articulated his stance, stating, "I know how to buy five players for 20 million Euros. If I do that, I will be loved, but Trabzonspor will suffer the consequences." He fears accumulating debt similar to Istanbul clubs if they were to pursue such a strategy.
