Traffic movement to be restricted in Bishkek and on Issyk-Kul from August 30 to September 6

Kyrgyzstan will implement significant traffic restrictions in Bishkek and the Issyk-Kul region between August 30 and September 6. These measures are being taken to ensure the smooth execution of major state-level events, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In the capital city of Bishkek, drivers can expect limitations on key routes. These include the roads leading from Manas International Airport, along Vasilyevskoye Highway, and on major thoroughfares such as Chuy, Manas, and Chingiz Aitmatov avenues. Several streets, including Abdrakhmanov, Baitik Baatyr, Masaliev, Zhayyla Baatyr, and Barpy Alykulov, will also be affected.

Similar temporary restrictions will be enforced on certain roads in the Chuy region. In the popular tourist destination of Issyk-Kul, traffic will be limited on specific routes, notably between the Tamchy International Airport and the city of Cholpon-Ata, in the vicinity of the hippodrome, and on the road leading to the Kyrchyn Gorge.

The coinciding events are the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and the World Nomad Games. The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges residents and visitors to exercise understanding and plan their travel routes in advance to minimize inconvenience.
