Traffic restrictions in Dublin for informal EU ministers' meeting

Dublin is set to experience traffic disruptions as it hosts an informal meeting of European Union ministers responsible for environment and climate. The two-day gathering will commence tomorrow afternoon at Dublin Castle and conclude on Friday evening.

Authorities have announced intermittent, localized traffic restrictions and rolling road closures managed by garda motorcycle escorts. These measures will be in place between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily, affecting routes between Dublin 8's south city center and Pigeon House Road in Dublin 4. The Gardaí are requesting the public's compliance with officers on duty during these periods.

A comprehensive policing and security operation is underway at Dublin Castle for the duration of Ireland's presidency of the EU. Specific areas, including Castle Street, Ship Street Little, and Ship Street Great, will remain closed to both traffic and pedestrians until December 31, although local access is being facilitated.
