The Greek and Brazilian football communities are mourning the death of Tássio Maia dos Santos, a former forward who passed away at the age of 41. Anagennisi Epanomi, a Greek club where he played briefly during the 2011-12 season, announced his death and offered condolences to his family.

Santos tragically died in Rio de Janeiro when a wall collapsed amid intense weather that battered the region. The incident occurred at a historic building where he was working, a venue known for hosting weddings and offering views of Sugarloaf Mountain and the Christ the Redeemer statue.

Santos had a stint in Greek football, playing for Anagennisi Epanomi in the second division. During his time with the Thessaloniki-based team, he made six appearances, scored two goals, and provided one assist. His career also included spells at prominent clubs such as Botafogo, Figueirense, and CSKA Sofia.
