Tragic accident in Manisa: 2 TIR trucks collide, 2 drivers injured

A serious accident occurred near the Peribacaları Junction in the Kula district of Manisa, Turkey, late Tuesday evening, involving two TIR trucks. The collision happened around 8:45 PM on a road made slippery by rainy weather.

According to reports, the driver of one TIR, identified as Emin Ö. (38), lost control of his vehicle, plate number 35 CBY 504. The truck veered into the opposite lane, colliding with a TIR driven by Hasan H. A. (62), with plate number 66 PF 568. The impact was so severe that the cabin of the second TIR detached from the vehicle.

Citizens who witnessed the crash immediately alerted health, fire, police, and gendarmerie teams. The two injured TIR drivers were transported by ambulance to Kula State Hospital. Hasan A., who is in critical condition, was later transferred to Salihli State Hospital for further examination and treatment.

The accident resulted in the closure of the İzmir-Ankara D300 highway in both directions, causing long queues of vehicles. Traffic was eventually reopened under controlled conditions after the teams cleared the scene. An investigation into the cause of the crash has been initiated.
