Transfer battle: FCSB and Craiova compete for SuperLiga midfielder

Karlo Muhar has become the focus of a transfer contest between FCSB and Universitatea Craiova after leaving CFR Cluj as a free agent.

FCSB owner Gigi Becali has returned to the Croatian midfielder, making a third attempt to sign the 30-year-old. Becali hopes to reach an agreement quickly, although Muhar has other options, including offers from abroad.

FCSB are also negotiating for Denis Drăguș, another major target for Becali. The proposed move would require a financial effort of €1 million for the 2026-27 season. Drăguș wants to return to Trabzonspor next season, so the conditions for a possible move to Bucharest still need to be settled.

Craiova are pursuing two players from CFR Cluj as they seek to strengthen their squad for domestic matches and European competitions. The club have made a concrete offer of €800,000 for Meriton Korenica, while Muhar is also on their list.

Muhar ended his relationship with CFR Cluj after a dispute over unpaid wages. The midfielder must now decide whether to remain in Romania’s SuperLiga or take up an opportunity abroad.
