Transparency Groups Demand Access to Brazilian Government Legal Fee Data

A coalition of fifteen organizations dedicated to promoting transparency has formally requested that Brazil's Comptroller General (CGU) reinforce access to crucial data concerning legal fees paid to public servants. The group has directed a letter to CGU Minister Vinícius Marques de Carvalho, urging him to uphold and expand the authorization previously granted to the organization Transparência Brasil.

This authorization allows Transparência Brasil to access the database containing information on "advocacia de sucumbência" – fees awarded to public servants who successfully represent the Union in legal cases.
