Transporter driver flees after causing serious accident with two injured

A dangerous overtaking maneuver on the Bundesstraße 51 near Ayl has resulted in a severe head-on collision, leaving two individuals with serious injuries. The incident occurred when the driver of a transporter attempted to overtake a car driven by a 31-year-old woman.

The oncoming traffic forced a 34-year-old man driving another vehicle to swerve, leading to a direct and forceful impact with the woman's car. The severity of the collision resulted in significant injuries for both drivers. Fortunately, no other passengers were in either vehicle at the time of the accident.

Following the collision, emergency services transported the injured 31-year-old woman and 34-year-old man to a nearby hospital for treatment. In a concerning turn of events, the driver of the transporter involved in the initial dangerous maneuver did not stop at the scene. Instead, they fled, leaving the injured parties behind.

Authorities are now appealing to the public for assistance in locating the transporter and identifying the individual who was driving it. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information regarding the vehicle or its driver to come forward to aid in the investigation.
