Treasure Hunt Festival 'Treasure Hunter in Jinan' Kicks Off in South Korea

Jinan County, South Korea, has launched an innovative festival designed to boost local tourism and engagement through a large-scale treasure hunt. Titled 'Treasure Hunter in Jinan,' the event is a collaborative effort between Jinan County, Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water), Dong-A Ilbo, and Fuwit.

The festival invites participants, known as 'Treasure Hunters,' to explore seven historically significant locations within Jinan County. These sites include the MaI Mountain Northern Tourist Complex, Geumdangsa Temple, MaI Mountain Tapsa Temple, Yongdam Dam Sculpture Park, Family Theme Park, Unilam Banilam, and Juchon Ecological Park. As participants journey through these scenic and cultural spots, they will search for hidden 'yeouiju,' or legendary jewels.

The real treasure of this special treasure hunt journey, which will last until September 19, is the nature and food that Jinan County holds, and the precious memories that participants will build. Starting from this event near Yongdam Dam, we will strengthen the win-win model with the surrounding dam areas.

Each yeouiju contains a QR code that can be scanned using the Fuwit 'Localvibe' app. This scan reveals whether the jewel is a standard one or a special prize-winning item. The grand prize includes a 50 million won cash reward for one participant, with a second prize of 5 million won for another. Additionally, 48 participants will receive third to fifth prizes ranging from 3 million won to 300,000 won.

Beyond the cash prizes, the festival boasts an impressive array of other rewards, totaling over 10,000 items. These include electric bicycles from Marcus, merchandise from gaming companies like Nexon and NCSoft, and household goods from Living Creator. The event aims to create a memorable experience for visitors, blending cultural exploration with the excitement of a treasure hunt, and fostering a connection between participants and the unique charm of Jinan County.
