Tribhuvan University exam paper leaked on WhatsApp five minutes after start

A question paper for Tribhuvan University’s Master of Business Studies examination was leaked via WhatsApp just five minutes after the exam commenced on July 24. The leak was confirmed through screenshots circulating on the platform.

The police will likely release detailed information regarding this themselves, but we have received confirmation of the arrests.

Following the circulation of evidence, the Ministry of Education directed the Inspector General of Police to investigate. The Central Investigation Bureau and Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police confirmed the leak occurred immediately after the exam started. Police arrested two individuals on Sunday for their alleged involvement, with one identified as 'Sulab Sir' who was seen sending the PDF of the question paper in a WhatsApp group.

Screenshots show students requesting solutions from 'Sulab Sir,' who also offered to provide economics questions. The WhatsApp group, named ‘MBS 1st Sem Section C,’ has over 1,000 members and a description stating, “Let’s help each other.”

Tribhuvan University’s Faculty of Management has established a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the incident. The committee will determine the facts surrounding the leak, identify those responsible for circulating the paper, and recommend appropriate legal action. The committee is headed by Prof Dr Achyut Gyawali.
