Triple Homicide, Two Missing in Armed Attack on Bolivian Ranch

A violent armed assault on a rural property in San Matías, Bolivia, has resulted in the deaths of three individuals and the disappearance of two women. The incident occurred at the Campo Nuevo ranch in the border province of Ángel Sandoval.

According to Jhonny Coca, the departmental director of the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc) in Santa Cruz, the primary suspects are four Brazilian nationals who fled the scene after the shooting. Initial investigations suggest the armed group intercepted the ranch owner's daughter, identified as Jhonny A., and forced her into the property. Once inside, they allegedly opened fire on workers, killing Manuel Egüez Pedraza, Denys Espinoza Pedraza, and Luis Alberto Rapp. A fourth worker was injured and transferred to a hospital in Cáceres, Brazil.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the motive behind the attack, stating that all hypotheses remain open. A strong possibility being investigated is the kidnapping of the ranch owner's daughter and wife, who were not found at the scene. "These two individuals were not found, and it is presumed they were victims of a kidnapping," Coca stated, though he cautioned that this version has not yet been corroborated.

The owner of the ranch, Johnny A., has no prior criminal record, according to police. In response to the attack, law enforcement has deployed a special contingent to San Matías to enhance security and prevent further violence. The municipality has a history of incidents linked to organized crime, prompting increased patrols and operations in the area.
