Trireme 'Olympias' docks in Piraeus for 'Days of the Sea 2026'

The trireme "Olympias," a faithful replica of a 5th-century BC Athenian warship, will dock in Piraeus from June 10 to 14, 2026, for the "Days of the Sea 2026" event.

This unique opportunity allows residents and visitors to experience the iconic vessel up close. Attendees can learn about ancient navigation techniques and connect with the maritime tradition that has long positioned Piraeus as a global shipping hub. The "Olympias" offers a journey back in time, linking Piraeus to the sea, ancient seamanship, and the enduring power of Greek culture.

The event, organized by the Ministry of National Defence and the Hellenic Navy General Staff, is supported by DMARIN. It is part of the "Piraeus Municipality Tourism Promotion" initiative under the "ATTICA 2021-2027" program, coordinated by the Piraeus Development Organization in collaboration with the Municipality of Piraeus's Directorate of Extroversion, European Programs, and Tourism.

Activities are free and funded by the "Attica 2021-2027" program. The event is under the auspices of several ministries, the Greek National Tourism Organization, and the Attica Region, coinciding with European Maritime Day (EMD).
