Troops Recover ISWAP Propaganda Camcorder, Unmask Top Terrorist Leaders in Fresh Intelligence Operation

In a significant breakthrough for the counter-insurgency campaign in Nigeria's northeast, troops from the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have successfully recovered an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) propaganda camcorder and uncovered the identities of several high-ranking terrorist commanders.

The intelligence-led operation targeted ISWAP/ISIS enclaves in the Lake Chad region of northern Borno State. During the operation, troops seized various technical devices and valuable intelligence materials, including the camcorder allegedly used by ISWAP to document their activities and produce propaganda videos. Forensic analysis of the recovered devices provided actionable intelligence, pinpointing locations associated with terrorist activities.

Operation HADIN KAI wishes to specifically draw the attention of the public to Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the ISWAP Wali, who remains the most wanted terrorist leader operating within the Lake Chad Basin.

Crucially, the operation led to the identification of several senior ISWAP commanders operating in the Mangari–Metele–Dogon Chukun axis along the Lake Chad Basin fringes. According to Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer for OPHK, these identified leaders include Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the ISWAP Wali (Governor), and his deputy, Muhammad Jidda, also known as “The One-Handed Man.” Hamad Abu Hanifa, the Amirul-Fiya of ISWAP, was also identified.

The military has placed particular emphasis on Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, describing him as the most wanted ISWAP leader in the Lake Chad Basin. A substantial financial reward is being offered for credible and actionable information that directly leads to his arrest. The military assures full confidentiality and protection for informants, while also appealing to the public for continued cooperation by providing timely intelligence through established security channels. Citizens are strongly cautioned against confronting or attempting to apprehend the suspects themselves.
