Troops rescue kidnap victim, recover 126 rustled livestock in Katsina

Troops operating in Katsina State have conducted successful operations, rescuing a kidnap victim and apprehending suspects while recovering a significant number of rustled livestock. These actions are part of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, a joint task force aimed at combating insecurity in the North West of Nigeria.

In one operation, troops responded to a distress call in Karkata Village, Charanchi Local Government Area, engaging terrorists in a gun battle. The superior firepower of the troops forced the criminals to abandon their captive, who was later rescued unharmed and reunited with her family. The military statement highlighted the swift response and effectiveness of the troops in overcoming the terrorists.

While advancing to the scene, the troops made contact with the terrorists and engaged them with superior firepower, forcing the criminals to abandon their kidnapped victim before fleeing into the surrounding bushes.

Further coordinated raids in Batsari Local Government Area, involving personnel from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), led to the arrest of suspects and the recovery of a locally fabricated firearm. These suspects and exhibits were handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation, indicating a multi-agency approach to tackling crime.

The suspects fled under military pressure, abandoning the animals. The recovered livestock were handed over to local government officials for return to their rightful owners.
