Tropical Wave 37 to bring rain, thunderstorms across Venezuela, says Inameh

Venezuela can expect widespread rain and thunderstorms on Saturday as Tropical Wave No. 37 moves across the country, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh). The agency forecasts significant cloud development and precipitation, especially in the afternoon and evening. Areas most affected will include the Guayana Esequiba, Bolívar, Amazonas, Delta Amacuro, Sucre, Monagas, Anzoátegui, Nueva Esparta, the mountains of the Greater Caracas, eastern Falcón, Apure, Barinas, Portuguesa, Cojedes, southern Guárico, Táchira, Mérida, and Zulia.

In the afternoon and night, Inameh anticipates greater cloud buildup with showers and thunderstorms in the Insular Region, the northeast, Bolívar, Amazonas, the Western Plains, Cojedes, the Andean region, and Zulia. Lighter rainfall is expected in the North Central Coastal region, Yaracuy, and Lara.

The weather conditions are attributed to the tropical wave interacting with the Intertropical Convergence Zone and a monsoon trough, further influenced by wind patterns over the country's terrain. Inameh also noted the continued presence of Sahara dust along the Venezuelan coastline, a phenomenon that may affect air quality in the coming days.
