Tropper-Hendel Alliance Demands National Security Ministry Portfolio

Former ministers Chili Tropper and Yoaz Hendel have launched a new political alliance, The Zionist Home-The Reservists, announcing their demand for the National Security Ministry portfolio for Hendel in the next government. The party also insists on the establishment of a "Zionist government" and the passage of a draft law requiring ultra-Orthodox men to serve in the IDF, alongside universal conscription.

We are going to offer a few plans in different areas. I can tell you that one of them is about going back to Zionism [and] encouraging aliyah to Israel.

Hendel, who previously led The Reservists party before its merger with Tropper's framework, will jointly lead the new alliance. The party stated it would not align with either the current opposition or Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc, emphasizing a commitment to "going back to Zionism" and encouraging aliyah (immigration to Israel). Hendel criticized the current government's "failure in recruiting all Israelis," noting that reservists bear the brunt of the burden.

Tropper endorsed Hendel for national security minister, citing his security background and "proven record as a government minister." He contrasted this with politicians who "make grand promises but with bloodshed in the streets," asserting it's time for "someone who comes to work, not to pose for pictures" and to "care about personal security, not TikTok likes."

The alliance presented its "Star of David Plan," detailing policy proposals on education, universal conscription, cost of living, settlements, governmental checks and balances, and border community revival. Their education plan stipulates that public funding would only go to schools teaching core curriculum studies. The party also pledged to incentivize military service and sanction draft evaders.
