Troy Parrott set for Real Betis debut against Valencia

Irish striker Troy Parrott is on the verge of debuting for Spanish club Real Betis, having recently signed from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar. The team's manager, Manuel Pellegrini, has confirmed that Parrott is fit and ready to feature in the upcoming La Liga match against Valencia.

While Parrott might make his first appearance as a substitute, Pellegrini indicated the player is prepared for action. "Troy has not been working with us for a long time," Pellegrini said. "He joined us only a day before the last game. But he has been working hard and he is on the list because he is ready to play."

Parrott's move to Spain follows a period where he deliberately stepped away from English football. He previously spoke about how forsaking English football had been beneficial for his career. The striker found the style and pace of play in the Dutch Eredivisie to be a better fit for him. He also sought to escape the intense external pressure that often accompanies young players trying to live up to significant hype.
