Truck Driver Killed in Gia Lai Mine Landslide

Tragedy struck Hòa Hội commune in Gia Lai province on April 17th, as a devastating landslide at a local earth mine claimed the life of a 33-year-old truck driver. The incident, which occurred around noon, saw a massive amount of soil collapse from a height of dozens of meters, instantly burying the truck cabin where the driver, identified as T.T.L., was waiting to be loaded.

Eyewitnesses reported that the collapse happened while an excavator, operated by N.V.P., was working. The sheer force of the falling earth and rocks crushed the truck, trapping the driver inside. Emergency services were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck sustained severe damage.
