Truck overturns on Vía Evitamiento, causing major traffic jams

A truck overturned on Vía de Evitamiento near Puente Nuevo on Sunday, June 5, causing significant traffic congestion in the area. The accident occurred as the truck was traveling from south to north, blocking the roadway shortly before reaching the Vía Expresa Linea Amarilla bypass.

The overturned vehicle is lying in the middle of the road, severely impacting traffic flow. The Vía de Evitamiento is a crucial route connecting districts such as Villa El Salvador, San Juan de Miraflores, San Juan de Lurigancho, Ate, and Santa Anita to the center and north of the capital.

Traffic monitoring services, such as Google Maps, indicated a substantial slowdown, with a red traffic band extending from the Puente Nuevo stop all the way to the area before the Vía Expresa Linea Amarilla bypass. The congestion is affecting vehicles heading towards the city center and northern parts of Lima.
