President Donald Trump has acknowledged that the United States faces shortages in the supply of certain types of weaponry, while simultaneously asserting that the nation maintains an ample supply of ammunition to sustain a conflict with Iran. Trump described the U.S. supply as "practically unlimited" in most cases, though he conceded that the situation is "a little tighter" for some specific items.

Speaking to reporters, Trump indicated that while certain munitions might be less readily available, American manufacturers are actively boosting production. He specifically mentioned increases in the output of long-range Tomahawk missiles and projectiles for Patriot air defense systems. The President assured that the U.S. is in an "excellent position" regarding its military readiness.

These remarks come in the wake of a report by The Washington Post, which cited anonymous officials claiming Trump had expressed frustration about not being fully briefed on ammunition shortages in the Middle East. The report suggested this information gap led to friction with his Secretary of Defense. However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who was present during the meeting, denied these claims.
