Trump claims golf win, citing 'talent' amid cheating accusations

Donald Trump celebrated winning another club championship at his Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey. He took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to share a video of his "winning shot" and declared his victory was due to "talent" that his competitors lack. Trump emphasized that despite having "very little time to practice" due to his focus on "so many other things," he possesses this innate ability, unlike others.

Trump secured club titles in both the senior and super senior categories. The super senior division is generally for men over 65, while the senior division is typically for those over 50. This marks a repeat of his wins in both categories from 2023, which he also announced on Truth Social, stating he was "a good golfer and sportsman" and that winning club championships was "always a great honor."

However, Trump's golfing prowess has been shadowed by accusations of cheating for years, dating back to before his presidency. These allegations have been made by figures such as actor Samuel L. Jackson and were highlighted in a 2019 book by sports journalist Rick Reilly titled "Commander in Cheat." Reilly detailed instances of alleged rule-bending, even noting that caddies at Winged Foot Golf Club nicknamed Trump "Pele" for his habit of using his foot to move the ball back to the fairway. More recently, a viral video from a golf game in Scotland appeared to show his caddie dropping a ball closer to the fairway for him.
