According to Trump, the planned festivities for the 250th anniversary of American independence were initially halted due to inclement weather. He stated that attendees were evacuated from Washington D.C.'s National Mall around 7:05 p.m. on the previous day, July 4th.

Trump claimed that his decision subsequently allowed the event to resume, drawing a large crowd. He reported that approximately 424,000 people had gathered at the National Mall before the weather-related cancellation.

The former president's statement positions him as the decisive figure who ensured the continuation of the national celebration despite adverse conditions.
