Trump Criticizes Spain: 'A NATO Member, But Not a Good One'

U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly criticized Spain's role within NATO, stating that while it is a member, it is "not a good NATO member." Speaking at a political event in North Dakota, Trump implied that Spain has not offered adequate support for military actions, particularly those related to Iran, and has not fully met its alliance obligations.

Trump invoked historical U.S. military engagements, referencing former President Theodore Roosevelt's battles against Spain. He listed territories like Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and Guam, which once held influence for Spain, suggesting that Spain does not treat the U.S. well and will eventually realize the loss of these regions.
