Trump demands compensation from Iran for conflict resolution

U.S. President Donald Trump has added a new condition to potential negotiations with Iran: compensation payments. Trump declared on his social media platform, Truth Social, that Iran must pay for individuals severely injured or killed by Iranian forces. He also demanded compensation for the families of demonstrators killed by the Iranian leadership over the last half-century.

"I have instructed my representatives to strongly include this point in all future negotiations," Trump stated, emphasizing his demand for reparations. He did not specify the exact amount of compensation sought.

This demand comes after Iran itself made claims for war damages. Iranian media reported that the National Security Council linked the reopening of the blocked Strait of Hormuz to concessions from the U.S. and its allies. Tehran's demands included an end to all U.S. threats, the lifting of the naval blockade on Iranian ports, and the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region, alongside full financial compensation for war damages.
