President Donald Trump has selected Justin Clark, his current Deputy Chief of Staff, to serve as the next White House Counsel. The announcement came via Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, on August 27. Clark is set to officially take on the role of Assistant to the President and White House Counsel starting September 2, stepping into the position previously held by Will Sharf, who will transition to White House Legal Adviser.

Trump lauded Clark's extensive experience and qualifications for the demanding legal role. Trump also noted Clark's background as a judicial law clerk for a respected federal appellate judge and his experience as an attorney in private practice.
