The World Cup trophy left the field during the Argentina-Spain final and made its way into Donald Trump’s suite, where the U.S. president touched it and patted it while standing alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The trophy had been displayed on the pitch shortly before the teams entered. Brazilian former striker Ronaldo, the 2002 World Cup champion and tournament top scorer, then carried it through the stadium to the main suite. Trump watched as Ronaldo brought it to him and took the opportunity to find out how much the trophy weighed.

The solid 18-karat-gold trophy was designed by Italian sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga. Trump and Melania arrived from his New Jersey property in Bedminster aboard Marine One. They entered the suite while Jennifer Hudson performed the U.S. national anthem, avoiding the boos Trump received during his most recent appearance at a sporting event, the article said.
