Trump renames Great Lakes border lake 'America Lake'

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a presidential decree renaming Lake Ontario, which borders Canada, to 'America Lake'. This move follows his previous decision last year to rename the Gulf of Mexico to 'America Gulf'.

During a White House signing ceremony, Trump instructed U.S. institutions to change the official name of Lake Ontario, stating, "This decision is official and effective immediately." He humorously remarked on the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico, saying, "Now everyone calls it America Gulf. We now have a gulf and a lake. Now we need an ocean. Maybe we'll change the name of the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean too."

Trump also voiced strong criticism of Canada regarding trade, calling it the "most difficult country to deal with." He asserted that Canada treats the U.S. poorly and believes they consider themselves privileged. Trump claimed that the U.S. loses an average of $62 billion annually due to trade with Canada, stating, "We can't afford this loss. We don't want to lose anymore."

When asked about Russian President Vladimir Putin and NATO, Trump stated he had a good conversation with Putin and that he "will not attack a NATO country." He declined to comment on whether CIA Director John Ratcliffe would issue a warning to Russia but reiterated, "They will not attack."

Regarding the disaster in Nepal, Trump expressed concern and stated that the U.S. had offered "any help they need." He described the situation as a "terrible disaster" involving a mixture of mud and water, unlike anything seen before. Trump mentioned that there were "50, maybe 60 Americans" in Nepal and hoped they were safe, though he acknowledged that some may have tragically lost their lives.
