Trump's Gaza peace plan reportedly reaches Hamas disarmament agreement

A 20-point peace plan for Gaza, initially presented by former U.S. President Donald Trump in September, has reportedly reached an agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas, according to Trump's recent social media post. The plan, which aims to end the conflict, includes a comprehensive framework for hostage and prisoner exchanges, as well as the reconstruction and future governance of Gaza.

Key provisions of the plan include the immediate release of all hostages, both living and deceased, within 72 hours. In return, Israel would release 250 life-sentence prisoners and an additional 1700 held in Gaza, including all women and children. Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence and disarm would be granted amnesty and allowed safe passage to host countries.

The plan also addresses the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid, the reconstruction of infrastructure and hospitals, and temporary governance of Gaza by an apolitical Palestinian committee. A "Board of Peace," chaired by Trump with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair as a member, would oversee this process. Regional partners would guarantee Hamas's compliance, and the U.S. and international partners would establish an International Stabilization Force (ISF) to train Palestinian police units.

Furthermore, the plan explicitly states that Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza, with the Israeli army withdrawing as the ISF gains control. It also outlines conditions for a credible path toward Palestinian self-determination and statehood as reconstruction progresses. The U.S. would establish dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to foster a lasting resolution.
