Donald Trump said he would not have welcomed Prince Harry and Meghan back into Britain if he were part of the British royal family, adding to his repeated criticism of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said he had never been a fan of the couple and accused them of treating the royal family with “great disrespect.” He was particularly critical of Meghan Markle, whom he called “tremendously disrespectful.”

“I didn’t like how she acted,” Trump said, referring to Meghan’s conduct toward Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III. He also emphasized his “very good” relationship with Elizabeth, who died in 2022, and with Charles, who succeeded her as head of the House of Windsor.
