Vance also credited Graham with playing a crucial role in saving Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's nomination. He characterized the accusations against Kavanaugh as a "character assassination" rather than a policy dispute, and stated that Graham's passionate defense was instrumental in securing the nomination.
