Trump Warns Iran of Stronger Retaliation: “There Will Be Almost Nothing Left”

Donald Trump warned Iran that any retaliation for renewed U.S. strikes would bring an even stronger response, saying the largest attack had yet to come.

In a Truth Social post, Trump said the United States was striking Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. He called the operation “a massive and powerful attack” and said it responded to Iran’s failed attempt to add mines in the strait and to an eight-missile attack on a U.S. base in Jordan. He said all eight missiles had been successfully intercepted.

Trump described the strikes as justified and said Iran would receive “much harder and higher-level hits” if it retaliated. He added that the response would not be the biggest attack, warning that the largest operation was still waiting and that Iran would be left with “almost nothing left” when it ended.

If Iran retaliates against this very legitimate attack, they will be hit again with much harder and higher-level strikes.

The warning followed a U.S. strike on missile launchers belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Larak Island on the previous day. It was the first direct U.S. attack on Iranian territory since the day before. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard then attacked King Hussein Air Base and Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan in retaliation, according to the report.

The exchanges marked another rise in military tensions between the two countries. Trump had also promised strong retaliation the previous day. At the same time, he claimed that a recently launched economic-isolation campaign against Iran was working. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the campaign on June 24, including sanctions on third countries that trade with Iran, after Trump said on June 19 that Washington would pursue broad economic isolation.
